Custom Entertainment Centers in Wilmington, NC

A wall unit designed around the size of your television, with cabinets and shelving for components, media and the things you want on display.

Start with the screen, then build out

The television sets the proportions. Once its size and mounting height are decided, the rest of the wall is planned around it: closed cabinets for equipment and clutter, open shelves for books and display pieces, and drawers for remotes, controllers and cables.

What to plan for

  • Screen size now, and the largest size you might move to later
  • Every component that connects to the TV, and how you want to reach them
  • Speakers or a sound bar, and where they will sit
  • Storage for games, media and blankets
  • Display shelves for books, photos or collections
  • Windows, fireplaces and outlets on or near the wall

Design and installation

How an entertainment center project works

  1. Consultation

Start with a free consultation in your home, or visit the Hanover Center showroom first to see displays and finishes in person.

  2. Measure and plan

The space is measured and the designer talks through what you need to store and how you use the room.

  3. Design together

You work through the layout with the designer and choose colors, finishes and accessories that suit the room.

  4. Built to your measurements

The system is made to the specifications of your design rather than pulled from a one-size-fits-all kit.

  5. Professional installation

The installation team fits the system in your home. Ask about scheduling and preparation during your consultation.

Entertainment center questions

Should I buy the TV before designing the entertainment center?

It helps to know the screen size. The design starts with the television, then the cabinets and shelving are planned around it. If you plan to upgrade later, mention the largest size you might buy.

Where do the cables and components go?

Cable routing and component storage are part of the design. Bring a list of what connects to the TV, such as a sound bar, receiver, streaming box or game console, so each one has a place.

Can an entertainment center include a guest bed?

A credenza bed can sit below a wall-mounted TV and work as a media console until it is needed as a bed.
